Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Glow Smarter with IPL.
When discoloration needs more than skincare.
If hyperpigmentation is your primary concern, such as sun damage, age spots, or broken capillaries, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy targets excess pigment and helps even out your skin tone. This laser treatment breaks up pigmented cells so your body can naturally clear them away, revealing clearer, more uniform skin.
It's one of the most effective treatments for achieving that even, luminous complexion.
Benefits of IPL PhotoFacial
-

Fades age spots and hyperpigmentation
IPL precisely targets excess pigment to visibly soften age spots and sun damage, restoring a brighter, more even-toned complexion.
-

Reduce redness for Rosacea-prone skin
By addressing vascular irregularities beneath the surface, IPL helps calm persistent redness and visible capillaries — promoting a more balanced appearance.
-

Treats active acne & improves the appearance of scars
IPL reduces acne-causing bacteria and inflammation while supporting skin repair, helping to clear active breakouts and refine the look of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring.
-

Improves texture and uneven tone
Through controlled light energy, IPL enhances overall skin clarity and smoothness - improving texture, refining tone, and revealing healthier-looking skin.

Treatment process & what to expect
-
Your treatment begins with a gentle yet thorough cleanse to remove makeup, oil, and debris. A cooling gel is then applied to the skin to enhance comfort and allow the IPL device to glide smoothly while protecting the skin during the procedure.
-
Protective eyewear is provided to shield your eyes from the bright pulses of light emitted during the IPL treatment, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience.
-
During the treatment, the IPL device delivers controlled pulses of light to targeted areas of the skin. You may feel a quick snapping sensation—often described as similar to a rubber band lightly snapping against the skin. The sensation is brief, and most clients find IPL treatments very tolerable, comparable to laser hair removal.
-
After your IPL photofacial, the skin may feel warm, mildly sunburned, or slightly swollen. These sensations are temporary and typically resolve within a few hours to a couple of days. Ice packs or cool compresses may be used to soothe the skin and minimize discomfort.
-
To support optimal healing and results:
Avoid heat for 48 hours, including saunas, hot tubs, and intense exercise
Refrain from swimming or pool use for a few days post-treatment
Pigmented spots may temporarily darken before naturally flaking off—do not pick or scratch
Use only gentle cleansers and soothing skincare
Avoid active ingredients such as AHAs, BHAs, retinoids, and exfoliating acids until the skin has fully recovered
Following proper post-care allows IPL to effectively improve pigmentation, redness, acne, and overall skin tone while minimizing irritation.
FAQ
-
IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light therapy, uses advanced broad-spectrum light to target specific concerns beneath the skin’s surface. The light energy penetrates the skin and is selectively absorbed by pigment and vascular structures—such as melanin in dark spots, sun damage, and hair, as well as hemoglobin in visible blood vessels and redness.
This light energy is then converted into gentle heat, which disrupts the targeted cells without damaging surrounding tissue. Over time, the body naturally clears away the treated pigment and vascular lesions, resulting in a clearer, more even, and balanced skin tone. -
Yes. When performed by a trained professional, IPL is a safe and effective treatment. The technology is designed to selectively target problem areas while leaving surrounding skin intact, allowing for natural healing and gradual improvement.
-
Most clients achieve optimal results with a series of treatments; approximately 3-6, typically spaced several weeks apart. Your personalized treatment plan will depend on your skin concerns, goals, and how your skin responds to IPL.
-
Some improvement may be visible after your first IPL session, especially in overall brightness and clarity. Pigmented spots may darken initially before fading, while redness and acne continue to improve gradually over the following weeks as the skin renews itself.
-
IPL involves minimal downtime. You may experience mild redness, warmth, or swelling similar to a light sunburn, which typically resolves within a few hours to a few days. Proper post-care helps ensure smooth healing and enhanced results.
-
If IPL doesn't lift all the pigment you'd hoped, a chemical peel is the perfect complementary treatment. IPL brings pigment to the surface, and a chemical peel helps gently shed what remains - creating a clearer, more even complexion with a smoother finish.
