  • Dermaplaning is a non-invasive, manual exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile surgical blade, held at a precise angle to gently remove built-up dead skin cells and fine vellus hair. 

  • Dermaplaning does not change the color, thickness, or growth rate of your hair. Vellus hair will grow back exactly as it was before the treatment. The procedure simply removes the hair at the surface and does not affect the follicle.

  • Most clients benefit from treatments every 4-6 weeks, depending on their skin's natural rate of cell turnover and their overall goals. This cadence maintains smoothness, supports healthy exfoliation, and keeps the complexion bright and refined. 

  • Dermaplaning should be postponed if your experiencing an active acne breakout, cystic acne, dermatitis, eczema, rosacea flare-ups, or a sunburn. These conditions can make the skin more reactive, and waiting until the skin is calm ensures a safer more effective treatment.

  • At home facial razors are designed for very superficial hair removal and use a duller disposable blade. While convenient, they often provide minimal exfoliation and can lead to irritation from overuse, or infection - when reused. 

    In contrast, a professional dermaplaning treatment is performed with a medical-grade, sterile surgical blade held at a precise angle to safely and effectively removed both vellus hair and dead skin cells. This level of precision delivers significantly smoother skin, enhanced product absorption, and a more refined longer-lasting result.

  • If you don't typically pair your dermaplane with a full facial, an exfoliating enzyme treatment is an excellent addition. The enzyme works to biologically digest residual dead cell buildup, creating a precise double-exfoliation effect.
